Thirty Years From Now:

Carl Bastion made his way carefully through the sewers to the underground lair of the resistance.

"Ironic," he thought, "that the former Lair Legion were reduced to now living in an actual lair" He didn't have much time for irony these days though.

He quickly briefed his team-mates, Finny and Harlagaz on his meeting with Kerry.

Clement, Yuki Shiro and Messenger were not yet back from their own mission, Finny advised, he expected them back shortly.

"Hey, Harper!" Bastion called to the other member of their team "something seems to be disrupting this scanner, see if you can fix it." He tossed the device to the young man sitting in the corner.

The man caught it, but looked forlornly at the archer. "Carl" he said, "I'm not my father."

The archer winced. "Ahh, sorry," he said, "force of habit" even after all this time. "I meant to say, can you check if Hallie can fix it?"

The young man nodded. He had understood what the archer meant. He raised his wrist, and pressed a few buttons on the strange looking watch he wore. It bleeped and squeaked in a computerised monologue, before giving of a greenish glow. "We'll have to run a few tests." Cody Harper replied, using his mutate ability with languages to translate for the sentient AI that now resided in the wrist-watch.

Suddenly, the dogs by the entrance started to bark, Hallie let off a computerised shriek that sounded eerily like a klaxon warning.

"What is it?" thundered Finny.

"Oh crap..." said Cody, before the roof caved in.

The Sentinoids had found them.
